People and Culture Coordinator

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

The People & Culture Coordinator will support the People, Culture, & Mission Department by providing support with ongoing People & Culture operational activities and processes to ensure that optimal levels of support are provided to the organization. This role will also provide relief/assistance to our Payroll Manager as needed.

 

CRITICAL OUTCOMES FROM THE JOB:
  • Administer the tracking and internal notification processes to support the management of all internal organizational changes and workforce inventory; new hires, promotions, departures, extensions
  • Support with onboarding and orientation for all new hires; manage scheduling and work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver an effective onboarding experience; deliver Orientation presentations and provide office tours
  • Support the recruitment and selection process; post positions, coordinate and conduct reference checks as needed 
  • Support the People & Culture team with the execution of programs and initiatives, including but not limited to benefits, performance reviews, bonus payouts, compensation program rollout and Canada's Top Employer Competition submission
  • Support People & Culture team with projects as needed
  • Ensuring all employment information is up to date; maintain accurate and timely information for People & Culture files
  • Assisting with the administration of benefits and payroll and providing backup to payroll as needed

EDUCATION:

  • Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management

EXPERIENCE: 

  • Excellent customer service skills to meet the requests of our team members
  • Strong MS Office proficiency (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience in an HR Coordinator role
  • Ability to effectively communicate in an open and direct manner; conveys information clearly and concisely with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong ethics regarding privacy, confidentiality, and protecting the interests of the company
  • Previous Payroll experience an asset
  • Experience with the implementation and administration of an HRIS
